Hi All,

I have cleared my step 1 -99 step 2 CK - 96 & i have step 3 CS in may 1st week 2009. Radiology is my dream... My question is for 96 i am sure that i wont get radiology seat in US Sad. but if do PG in Radiology in India what is the chance/percentage of getting radiology seat in US. kindly let me know if any one of you have an idea on this.

Kiran,
if you have done Radiology outside the US, you can bypass the Radiology residency in the US. There are 2 ways as far as to my knowledge:

Choice 1. Do 4 years of fellowship. These 4 years HAVE to be in a row AND in the same institution. You can do one research year out of these 4 years. The fellowships are your choice.

Choice 2. Do 2 years of fellowship. These 2 years HAVE to be in a row AND in the same institution. Afterwards, you can apply for a "junior staff" position at the SAME institution. You HAVE then to practice 2 consecutive years as junior staff. I am not quiet sure if the 2 fellowship years can also include a research year.

Before you start the fellowships, you HAVE to pass the american Radiology boards.

There will be soon a great Radiology community website out, called RadiologyCity (www.RadiologyCity.com). It will launch in a few weeks (in February). There you can get even more information, exam preparation etc..
